Lucky shoes found!

Lucky shoes found!

The world of Ten-Pin Bowling was thrown into crisis recently by the mysterious dissappearence of a pair of lucky shoes owned by Star Bowler Sue ‘Masher’ Mills. Sue, whose day job keeps her busy in the design studio of Windrush in Witney, lost the shoe after a particularly heavy celebration of a recent win. A tearful Sue explained at the time. ‘I normally wear them in bed, so I really don’t know what happened. I woke up cuddling a traffic cone with no shoes.’

Sniffer dogs were called after Sue explained she has had the shoes for 29 years. Those close to her (but not too close obviously) were amazed. One fellow bowler, Russell ‘Strike out’ Blythe, normally a hit with the older ladies, was surprised. ‘I always assumed her normal rebuff of my amourous advances “I have shoes older than you.” was just rejection of my youth. I might try again now.’

Sue initially set up an 01993 772197 helpline to track down the missing shoes, but gave up when this was constantly diverted to a local design and print company. She had almost given up hope until the sniffer dogs were called in. ‘We found them under her bed.’ said dog handler Howard Keeping. ‘To be honest, we didn’t need the dogs. I could have found them with my eyes shut and a bad cold.’ Sue was over the moon to be reunited with her lucky shoes, but the lads down the bowling club are going to have to find a better hiding place next time.
